To believe in the soul as animating the body is to declare the body as an ensouled object, which is what is required for an object to be magical. It is only because the body is ensouled that the human soul is able to supposedly ensoul something without itself. The puppet has no life but what is imparted through it by the marionette.
The declarations against magic are abundant in the Bible. Sure, there are very problematic aspects to this condemnation, which we will be discussing. To begin with, we can appreciate why this anti-magic stance within the Bible is problematic by envisioning a debate between a Christian and a Mage while an atheist watches. From the perspective … Continue reading Thoughts and Prayers
Here are some remarkable points of identity between Heisenberg's Physics and Philosophy (1954) and Mary Atwood's Suggestive Inquiry (1850). It is worth pointing out that Heisenberg is no minor figure in modern physics, but contemporaneous with the remaining eminent figureheads of 20th century physics, i.e. Einstein, Bohr, Schrödinger, Planck, Bohm, etc. Atwood is known for … Continue reading Heisenberg and Atwood Compared
All things are thus arisen through the divine imagination, and do yet stand in such a birth, station, or government. The four elements likewise have such a ground [birth or original] from the imagination of the Eternal One; this visible world with all its host and being is nothing but an objective representation of the spiritual world, which spiritual world is hidden in this material, elemental world, and the elements are nothing but an image-like, moving existence of what is invisible and immobile.
"I remember once sitting on a sofa smoking and looking at an ashtray. It was an ordinary copper ash-tray. Suddenly I felt that I was beginning to understand what the ash-tray was, and at the same time, with a certain wonder and almost with fear, I felt that I had never understood it before and … Continue reading At the Ashtray of Madness
The connection between this world and the other-world is obviously wound up in the relationship between dream, perception, and reality. The substance of the spiritual is wound up in the question of the mind apart from the physical world, which is unmistakably proven by the adequate characterization of hell as a living nightmare and heaven as a dream come true.
"Neils Bohr, Hans Kramers and John Slater revealed one essential feature of the correct interpretation of quantum theory. This concept of the probability wave was something entirely new in theoretical physics since Newton. Probability in mathematics or in statistical mechanics means a statement about our degree of knowledge of the actual situation. In throwing dice … Continue reading Alma Mater
January 16th, 2019: Around noon, I decided I would go for an extended walk westward. Perhaps the appropriate word would be 'trek', in that it was mildly arduous; approximately twelve to fifteen miles overall. Eventually, I reached a Lake Overholser, and admired the variety of birds as an amateur ornithologist. While I would not wholesale … Continue reading Now THAT!…was unexpected.
December 21st 2018: I produced an intense and definitive trance state after a prolonged period of meditation, exercise, study, and writing. Towards the end of the evening, I had been working on a follow-up to my article Paradigm Shift, and was reading Heisenberg’s Physics and Philosophy with increasing delight. I eventually had some wine and … Continue reading Dormiens Vigila
I became aware, more vividly aware than I had ever been, that the secret of life consists in sharing the madness of God. By sharing the madness of God I mean the power of rousing a peculiar exultation in yourself as you confront the Inanimate, an exultation which is really a cosmic eroticism, however much the Prince of this World may deride it, for it means the finding of “the eternal feminine” in Matter itself.
